Crap pop rock band Linkin Park is teaming up with Michael Bay to bring us the lamest ballad in the history of A.M. radio, for the new Transformers 2 score. It's actually a perfect pairing.

Linkin Park band member Mike Shinoda announced on this blog that he, the band, Michael Bay and Hans Zimmer would be coming out with a track made for Transformers: Revenge Of The Fallen. But it doesn't stop there, it's actually much, much worse. They will be working on the movie's score with Zimmer, to make sure it has more yelly screams and talk rap over it. I mean did any of you expect Transformers to have an actual unique, interesting or possibly challenging sound?

In addition—and probably ever cooler—we have been offered the unique opportunity to help score the film. The song we wrote is being used as one of the themes, and we will be writing various interpolations on that theme, and trying out some other thematic ideas as part of the (very large) team scoring the film.

My bandmates and I are working with award-winning film composer (and resident ass-kicker) Hans Zimmer. We met with Hans last week, and heard some of the incredible things he and his guys have done with our new song. In the next few days, we'll be doing some work with Hans' amazing writing and recording crew.

The state of my soul after reading io9's criticism of linkin park:

(My attempt at a tear drop.)

I came here...they liked scifi...and I liked Scifi! They liked TSCC and I liked TSCC! They liked comics and batman and I loved comics and batman.

True, they didn't like Michael Bay, even though I did but not everything can be perfect. Then I read the headlines linking my two legends, Hans Zimmer and Linkin Park and I was like

And then they ruined it. Ruined it!
