Life scientists now have a preprint server all their own! Like the similarly named arXiv, the newly launched bioRχiv is a place where scientists can upload their research papers the minute they're ready to share them with the world (that could be days, weeks or even months before their formal publication). But as the name implies, bioRχiv is for biological fields only.
On a related note people need to stop saying they want to "end peer review" because it's not really when they mean and it creates stuff like this. The future is supposed to be "open review" where there is a dialogue that everyone can see. An unrestricted comment system isn't really helpful: anything remotely controversial, where you might care about the comments, will just have the comments filled up by shills and trolls while stuff that is boring but wrong will never have the flaws pointed out.
