We’re writing this before watching the episode and will have a full, spoiler-filled discussion in the morning as usual. But, before that, this is where you can let loose. Tell us, what did you think? Was the episode everything you’d hoped for? Were you surprised at who died? Did someone die? Should someone else have died? Are you encouraged about where next season might be going? Has the show redeemed itself after last season’s maddening finale?

Below is where you can discuss it, and then, check back in the AM for our thoughts.

I stopped watching after the S7 premiere as I didn’t want to watch a show that was so casually brutal just as a plot device. I tried to watch tonight’s episode and if you stop caring about the characters and being invested in the show’s story, the drama itself is really not particularly compelling. It’s not a well-written show. It’s lazy, it’s archetypal and there’s generally no surprises anymore (especially when compared with previous seasons).

I never thought I’d say this, but I miss Shane and the Governor. At least they were compelling villains to a point. Negan talks too much and yet says so goddamn little.
