The Legend of Conan is still happening! What with Hercules, Expendables 3 and Escape Plan coming down the pipe it feels like we're reliving the oiled muscled movies of the '80s, only with old people. And now The Legend of Conan hired a writer.

Deadline is reporting that Andrea Berloff, best known for World Trade Center, has been hired to pen the script that will bring Arnold Schwarzenegger back as Conan, centered around his life on the throne. As for the writer, producer Chris Morgan had this to say about her involvement: "[she's] an amazing writer who can juggle masculine grittiness with extreme emotional depth. Her take on Conan is powerful and genuine and would make Robert E. Howard proud.” Which pleases us. Specifically the idea of Hollywood types having meetings on balancing masculinity and emotional depth.

I read the title as the scriptwriter was hired because they were a really masculine and gritty person. Like they wanted the traits to transfer to the character via osmosis or something.

The actual reason given sounds better.
