Well it's a good thing that we have those space ships fitted with the Asgard FTL drives or else we would be unable to even get off earth.
What? What!? You mean that there is no replacement for the shuttles ready yet? You're kidding, right?
Well at least our planetary defense grid is in good shape, what with the particle beam weapons that were created with the billions of money from the Star Wars program...
What? What!? You mean that for all those billions of dollars we didn't get a weapon we could use to defend the earth? First we give up any chance of reaching the high ground, or even meeting the aliens in LEO and now you are telling me that the particle beam weapons can't defend Earth? I mean I knew that they weren't for defending us against Russian nukes that was just crazy talk.
Maybe the shuttles are going to be fitted with the particle beam weapons so we will have SOMETHING in an emergency. I mean come ON.
We are humans! We can do stuff. It's not like we are Pakleds.
