Wonder Woman 2 may have found its villain in Saturday Night Live alum Kristen Wiig.

Deadline reports Wiig is in talks to play the evil Cheetah in the highly anticipated sequel, which already has director Patty Jenkins and star Gal Gadot returning for a story rumored to be set during the 1980s Cold War.

Speculation about Cheetah being the villain in the film started earlier this week over on That Hashtag Show, which reported the Dr. Barbara Ann Minerva version of the character would be in the film. That Cheetah has had a few, slightly different origin stories in the comics, most of which involve archeology or Wonder Woman, and all of which eventually end with her showing down with the hero.

Wiig has yet to star in a superhero movie, but has done a wide variety of roles, from comedic to serious and action to animated. She’s as versatile and charismatic as they come and would be a very interesting juxtaposition against the more stoic Gadot.

As always, “in talks” doesn’t always mean things will work out, but it’s usually more likely than not. It seems fairly safe to say that Gal Gadot will be facing off with Kristen Wiig come November 1, 2019.
