Author James Kennedy and the New York Public Library are sponsoring a series featuring 90-second video versions of books that won the Newbery Award for best YA lit. Here's one for Madeleine L'Engle's trippy multiverse adventure A Wrinkle In Time.


This is awesome. I love when Calvin O'Keefe says, "I'm popular - but sensitive." Kennedy writes in to say:

Anyone can enter. There will be a "90-Second Newbery" Film Festival screening at the New York Public Library in the autumn of 2011.

It's amazing that a bunch of kids with a video camera and no budget can do more in 90 seconds than most of Hollywood can do with months and millions.

After pondering what Hollywood pinches out these days, it's less amazing, but no less impressive. These kids are great!
