Kazuo Ishiguro's The Buried Giant only came out last week, but it's already making steps to go to the big screen. In a Guardian article about the author being "on side of the pixies and the dragons," Ishiguro confirmed that Scott Rudin had bought the film rights. [via Empire]

I can see that this is going to be one of those books that become ubiquitous on the literary scene and "transcend genre" ad nauseum, so if you tell someone you like famtasy they will automatically mention how much they loved it. What i'd really like to know is how actual fantasy readers think it is. Has anybody read it yet?
