Aquaman/Batman v. Superman/Justice League

At Walker Stalker Con in Atlanta, Jason Momoa spoke openly about being Aquaman for the first time. About the secrecy, he said:

Listen, I was asked to play it. You know, you audition and stuff like that, but the fact is you've just got to keep it quiet. You know what I mean, I was just trying to respect Warner Bros. and everyone's wishes. I'm really, really happy that I don't have to be quiet anymore, because that's really hard for me.

... I don't even know when we're shooting yet, but it will be like 2016 or 2017, so there's plenty of time.

Of all the standalone film, Momoa knew about as much as we do, only able to say:

I don't know the director. I know about as much as you guys know. I know the Justice League will come first. That's really what we're going to focus on. I'm not sure if it will be [set] prior to Justice League or post. I don't know too much about it. It will probably be where he came from. It will probably be his whole origin story I would think…I mean I don't even want to get quoted on this shit. So I know we're going to do Justice League first.

And of Justice League, he had this much to say:

I don't think there will be a romance any time soon in Justice League. I think we're going to be kicking some ass. But I don't know for sure, because there's no script yet.

.. I really wish I could say something, but I don't even know.. I found out some of the characters that are in Justice League that are casted that I didn't know. So you found out when I found out. And that stuff is pretty tight-lipped so I don't have anything to give.

Latino Review has a source about a party being thrown by Lex Luthor at the reopening of the Metropolitan Central Library, post- Man of Steel. According to the source, Lexcorp funded the construction because "Intellect is man's biggest strength."

There is also supposedly an "almost red carpet montage where the rich and famous are asked their views about the Superman who appeared in the public eye recently. The red carpet setup is attached, and will include both Bruce Wayne and Lex Luthor being asked that question by Lois Lane and Clark Kent on the carpet." The photo of the set-up, below, was briefly on Twitter. [ Latino Review]

Suicide Squad

David Ayer is all over his new DC project, saying of the writing:

I can say that it's a Dirty Dozen with supervillains. Then I can ask the question, 'Does a movie really need good guys?'

... I love the passion [comic-book fans] have for these characters and these worlds. I think there's something incredible about the comic genre and technology has finally caught up with pen and ink to render these fantastic worlds in a way that feels believable and visceral to audiences. It's a secular religion in that regards. The mythology that these characters represent – the idea of them as fallen gods on Earth – is intriguing to me. I can't wait to start exploring those corridors.

Captain America 3

Of course, Robert Downey Jr. isn't confirming anything about the Civil War plot, obviously, but he did tell Yahoo! that it's "Going to be huge, whatever it is." [ Yahoo!]

Guardians of the Galaxy 2

James Gunn has sat down and written this all out already, he says. In addition to the return of all five main cast members, he also says that some other characters from the first film would make appearances. He also hinted that the team would get new members in the film. He added:

I spent all day on Aug. 1, the day the first movie was released, writing 'Guardians 2.' I was so excited about it and I was finally able to let go of the last one and begin the second one. I always saw this as a universe, not just as one story.

The Walking Dead

Steven Yuen did a couple of interviews on the first episodes, and he responded to what resulted from not letting Rick go back to Terminus:

Yeah, it's interesting. I think that's what's cool is Glenn holds out hope for humanity and for redemption and for salvation for people, but this world keeps screwing it up. Even in that first episode with the guy in the crate: He's the loon. He's the crazy guy that bound them up the first time — and he saved him. And that's the world just continuing to beat down this semblance of hope that Glenn is striving for. I wouldn't be surprised if you see that affect him a little bit as it goes on. That's what's amazing about this world is that even the Terminus people — you could justify what they're doing in that world. Because if the world is just, "How do you survive?" then they're not necessarily pure evil — they're just doing what is necessary to live. And it's such a sliding scale of what's right and what's wrong and it depends on what viewpoint you're coming from, but clearly even within the group you see people sitting on different sides of that meter and that gamut of choices. Rick, in that moment, he was right from a practical standpoint. But can you come back from that?

[ Entertainment Weekly]

Michael Cudlitz answered the same question with hints for the future of the show:

Yeah, we're gonna see a lot of situations like that come up and choices that everyone makes — either individually or as a group — that come back to haunt them that really do shape the way that they move forward from this point on. Terminus was a huge, huge turning point with that. Nobody can be trusted and that is going to play a lot into how they deal with everything and everybody moving forward.

As for whether Abraham and Rosita would be together in the show, he added:

Yeah, I think everyone will be moving forward in their personal relations, because they are so isolated in so many ways. There's only one way to go, which is since we're not going out, we're gonna go in.

The Flash

Roger Howarth has been cast as the recurring character Mason Bridge, an "award-winning reporter from the Central City Picture News." He'll come into the show when he's assigned to work with new employee Iris West, "but their relationship becomes complicated when Bridge begins to investigate Barry's mentor, Dr. Wells." [ Deadline]

Here's a video interview with Grant Gustin, where he talks about Iris and how Felicity suddenly brings "back to the original Barry when she's around, just because she makes him all nervous." [ K Site TV]

IGN spoke to both Grant Gustin and Stephen Amell about the major crossover. Amell's really excited about a moment he had the idea for:

It's my idea. I can't tell you anything about it other than it relates to Central City. When I saw it in the Flash script, it ended up being really actually quite gratifying. First of all, when I say it was my idea, everyone has ideas all the time. It all goes into a melting pot. I just thought it would be a cool idea. I thought it would be a cool idea for The Flash. It ended up being a cool idea that we were able to utilize me for because we were doing a crossover with The Flash. So it was very professionally gratifying.

I just spoke with [director] Glenn Winter on Wednesday. We were shooting some stuff for episode 308, which is our Flash crossover episode, and he said that he had seen a cut and it was his favorite thing that I have been involved in so far on the show. I can't say anything about what it has to do with other than that the crossovers… We are very much guests in Central City and very much the rogue team in Central City. Just as much as Grant and the Flash team are guests here. We talk and we delve into the differences between Central City and Starling City but this particular moment is very much an Arrow-centric moment.

Both Amell and Gustin say to look out for Dig in the crossover:

Said Amell, "The unequivocal highlight of the entire crossover for me is David Ramsay. I could not keep a straight face during any of David Ramsay's lines during the crossover to the Flash. It destroyed me. "

Said Gustin, "David Ramsey is the funniest person in the world. Think about Dig seeing The Flash and who Dig is and having to accept that this is reality and he just plays that so well and it's so funny. It's great.

Vinnie Jones will play Danny "Brick" Brickwell in episodes 3.10-3.12. Arrow's version of Danny Brickwell is as "a ruthless gang leader who brings Star City's government to its knees. He's known as "Brick" on the streets because he's been shot dozens of times but never put down." [Variety]

The Originals

Charles Michael Davis says we'll be getting a lot of flashbacks in later episodes of the season:

We're going to learn a lot more about Marcel, actually. I just got some later scripts, and all the writers have been talking about this one flashback episode for weeks. We'll get to see Marcel become a leader and step up, which is all part of his bigger journey. He's in another transition period right now, so we're going to look back and see what he did earlier in his life when he was looking for something bigger than himself.

He added that Marcel's going to be spending the bulk of his time with "Elijah and Hayley" and that he also has Gia and Josh. [ TV Line]

Sebastian Roché explained what he could about Mikael's arc this season:

Without spilling too much, there is going to be a lot of epic confrontations this year. There are going to be things from the past…I don't want to tell too much. All I can say is he is going to be quite the presence for pretty much the whole season.

[ TV Equals]

Here are some photos of Nina Dobrev as Tatia, as well as some information on her appearance from Julie Plec:

"What we remember from The Vampire Diaries, for those who watch both shows, is that [Klaus and Elijah] both loved her, so it's a little bit of history repeating itself like with Stefan [Paul Wesley] and Damon [Ian Somerhalder]," creator Julie Plec says of Tatia's highly anticipated debut. "And then Esther [Alice Evans], their mother, killed her so that she could make Klaus not a hybrid. There's lots of secrets and scandal and romance and terrible tragedy attached to her character. We'll get to go back into the past to see how that all played out."
