Sir Richard Attenborough passed away this weekend at the age of 90, but his cinematic legacy will live on. And given that Jurassic Park's entrepreneur John Hammond may be his best known role, it's only fitting that the upcoming sequel Jurassic World honor both the character and the actor — and they have.
Director Colin Trevorrow tweeted this picture of a memorial statue to Hammond yesterday afternoon, undoubtedly part of the Jurassic World set.
Of course, seeing as Attenborough passed away on Sunday, it's highly unlikely that this statue was made solely after his death; it was more likely already finished or at least in the works. Still, that doesn't make it any less of a wonderful tribute to the acclaimed actor and director, nor does it mean we still won't get a bit misty-eyed when we see this statue on screen when Jurassic World next June.
