Judd Apatow gets behind the Pee-Wee Herman movie

Universal wants to make two Pee-Wee Herman films, and Judd Apatow just decided to back one of them. Only one question remains, who will Seth Rogen play?

Variety broke the news that Judd Apatow has decided to help develop one of the two Pee-Wee movies that Paul Reubens has written. Rumor has it, one of the scripts was made for children and other was written for adults. While we don't know which film Apatow decided to back, we do know it's "a road pic built around a gigantic adventure." Apatow will not be directing.

We really hope that Apatow is going after the adult version. There's a lot of crazy darkness just dying to get out of Pee-Wee's playhouse, and we want to see Chairry unhinge. Also, Jason Segel for the role of Cowntess sounds about right.

It's good sense to get behind the Pee Wee Herman movie. Because I'm not sure I'd want Paul Reubens behind me.
