Star Wars

There's been speculation making the rounds that Jennifer Lawrence would be playing a young Han Solo. There have even been essays explaining why this might be a good idea. Talking to Slashfilm, Lawrence laughed off the idea:

I can't play a young Han Solo. [Laughs] That's awful... [The actor who plays young Han will] probably be male, but I have always wanted to play a man.

X-Men: Days of Future Past

Speaking of a role Lawrence does have, she did detail where we'd find her character, Mystique, in this film:

We find Raven, she's split off from Eric and Charles and she's kind of her own agent. She has one mission of trying to assassinate somebody and it will be her first kill basically, and because we've seen her in the future and what she becomes and this is kind of a turning point for her.

Captain America: The Winter Soldier

Some new details about Captain America: The Winter Soldier toys released by Diamond Select Toys have shed light on some new costumes. First is the list of two-inch tall Minimate pairs that'll be available:

  • Stealth Uniform Captain America with Crossbones
  • Final Battle Captain America with Winter Soldier
  • Black Widow with Falcon
  • Agent Sitwell with Batroc

First, we already know that Cap has two uniforms in this movie. When we broke down the trailer, it was suggested in the comments that he takes his old World War II uniform from a museum, so maybe that's the "Final Battle" outfit, and the "Stealth" uniform is the new armored one we've seen. Plus, there's the question of what he needs a "stealth" uniform for anyway. And then there's always the possibility that these reference one or more outfits we haven't seen yet.

Second, it looks like Batroc and Crossbones will be distinctive enough to be recognizable at two inches tall.

Finally, they also released silhouettes of the seven-inch action figures of Stealth Uniform Captain America and Falcon. Take a look at the wingspan on Falcon. [MTV]

Independence Day 2

Previously, the movie was supposed to be released in July of 2015. Now, it's been pushed back to July 1st, 2016. The good news that the sequel will now be released exactly twenty years after the original. The bad news is that we still don't know if they'll be shooting the version of the script with Will Smith, or without. [Coming Soon]

Hercules: The Legend Begins

Summit's set to release this version of the Hercules story, starring Kellan Lutz, on February 7, 2014. This means it'll come out months before the Brett Ratner/The Rock one, which is set for July 25, 2014. [Coming Soon]

Jessica Jones

Melissa Rosenberg, who wrote and produced Dexter and wrote the Twilight movies will write and produce the Jessica Jones Netflix series. Fun fact: She was once supposed to oversee a show called AKA Jessica Jones for ABC, but that version fell apart. This comes after the news that Drew Goddard is in talks to write the Daredevil Netflix series. [Slashfilm]

Doctor Who

Steven Moffat gave an interesting detail about the Zygons' involvement in "The Day of the Doctor":

They're not the only villain. They're the villain we shot outside. So I'll be honest with you: what you know is entirely conditioned by which bits we had to shoot outside. So then we say 'we've decided to tell you...'. We just tell you what we have no choice about. If I could make this on the dark side of the moon and tell you nothing at all, I'd do it. I'd also lie to you prodigiously and regularly if I though it would help keep a secret. Watch me!

So there are more villains, and they were shot in studio. That likely includes the Daleks, that we've seen in promo materials for the special. He also made clear that this won't be a stand alone episode, it's going to set the stage for the next season:

Yes. Yes. I think I was the person who appallingly introduced the phrase 'game changing' into Doctor Who. Oh God. It's a terrible expression, I wish I'd never said it!

Yes. We're going to make a change. It's going to have an effect.

You don't very often do that with a character in a running series, but after 50 years you can maybe take the risk. It's going to have an effect on him. Everything is not going to be the same. Chapter two.

Summer Glau said that last night's episode set the stage for further "pushing" by Isabel on Oliver and Felicity's relationship:

Does Isabel wonder why Oliver's "driver" is part of this trip to Russia?

She wonders about Diggle, and she also wonders about Felicity. [Isabel] is in a power struggle with Oliver and she sees that Felicity is always at his side, always covering for him, she has his ear, she has his back… I think [Isabel] is trying to wedge her way in between their relationship – and she gets a chance to do that in this episode.

What, does she suspect they have more than a professional relationship going on…?

She's going to turn up the heat on those two. She knows that there's something going on…. I don't want to give too much away about future episodes, but she's going to keep pushing. She wants to be in control.

Does Isabel start to suspect that Oliver is involved in more than… well, whatever it is that Queen Consolidated does?

I like to think that she was already onto him. I think Isabel knows that he's no dummy, he's no party boy, that there's something else going on. She's starting to suspect him more and more, and respect him more and more. She sees that he's more than meets the eye.

The Originals

According Joseph Morgan, there will be "some distance" between Klaus and Cami, but there's an "amazing scene" for the pair in episode nine. Leah Pipes also hinted at some distance between the two, saying that Cami would learn to combat Klaus' compulsion:

You'll see her figure out how she can overcome this supernatural thing via human tactics.

Tomorrow People

In an interview mostly about last night's episode, Aaron Yoo hinted that later episodes may reveal more of Russell's powers:

I don't think that you find out that Russell has any special powers that you don't already know about. You might find that out in the future, but if anything, the only special power that you discover that he has is the ability to ruin any seemingly safe situation. And it's pretty much an undefeatable super power. I read scripts and go, "Well I screw this up pretty royally" pretty much on an episode-to-episode basis. There's one point where I go, "Why do I keep suggesting that I'm good at sneaking into/infiltrating places? I get caught all the time!" But that's some foreshadowing for later episodes. Some really good later episodes. In this episode, if anything, his best super power is trouble.
