Count down for the apocalyptic house party, with Jay Baruchel and Seth Rogen. We got a few new end-of-the-world updates from Baruchel, including which celebrities he wants to make a guest appearance, and when this film may finally start production.

We caught up with Baruchel, who's promoting How To Train Your Dragon, and hit him up for more details on Jay And Seth, which sounds pretty amazing.

Jay And Seth Versus The Apocalypse, what's going on with the film now?

Baruchel: Seth and I have a lot of things going on, so we just got to figure out a time in the year where it makes sense for us to carve our at least six months to do it. Seth just finished the Green Hornet, he producing I'm With Cancer, right now. We have a hockey movie we're trying to do [The Goon]. So, it's a toss-up [as to] which one goes first, and I've already said too much in other interviews, which have made myself and Seth look like an ass. But ideally, we start putting it all together. We've been working on it and writing it for the past two years. There's a studio that wants to make it, so everybody wants to do it, it's just a matter of timing. I'd say that we at least start making the thing in some capacity by the end of this year.

Would the majority of the film shoot feature your apartment after the apocalypse?

Baruchel: That's a lot of it, that was the idea. We kind of have more grandiose ideas for what the feature would be. The one thing that I can say — that was my pitch, my idea, that I think we'll end up doing, because it would be foolish not to — I want a recurring joke, because it takes place in Los Angeles, and there's a lot of famous people in Los Angeles, I want a bunch of cameos, but I just want them to be corpses. I want them to be like "oh god there's Will Smith's dead body in the corner!" And it would actually be him. So that's my recurring joke for the movie: I want there to be a lot of dead famous people in it.

I read something online where you mentioned that your co-star Teresa Palmer was going to be in Mad Max 4? Is that true, care to clear that rumor up?

Baruchel: I know, that just got taken everywhere. Listen, Teresa is one of my best friends and I was just real proud of her and gushing, bragging [that] someone I know who is in a movie as cool as that. Because Road Warrior is one of the first movies my mother ever showed me as a kid. So I have said too much already. I'll leave it to Teresa's representation to confirm or deny anything. I've seen that thing reprinted in a bunch of languages. So, no I've already said too much.

At least it's all good stuff?

Baruchel: Yes, I've already apologized to her and she's not angry with me.

Until Jay And Seth goes into production, you'll have to make due with this tiny trailer the two made over two years ago, but it still holds up.

Its not that similar a concept, its a buddy comedy with a fantastic setting, but that's about it. Its not like the movie has zombies. Its actually kind of like comparing it too Toy Story or any otherPixar film for that matter.
