Jack Black Shares a 'Tribute' Song to Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle

It’s hard to tell when Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle star Jack Black is being serious or not, and this latest stunt is no exception. Black has “revealed” that he and co-star Nick Jonas (formerly of the Jonas Brothers) have written an epic theme song for the upcoming jungle romp. At least, I hope so.

During an appearance on Friday’s The Graham Norton Show, Black was asked whether he’d written a theme song for Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle since he does that for many of his movies. Apparently, he has! He said he and Jonas wrote an epic jam for the film and even filmed a music video. But the jury is out on whether we’ll get to see it... or, to be honest, whether it actually exists.

“We were all kind of messing around with a theme song, and me and Nick Jonas actually put the finishing touches on it. And we shot a music video, hoping to release it soon,” Black said, moments before bursting into song. “This might be the only time you hear it, I don’t know if it’s going to make the final cut. But it’s pretty powerful.”

Black sang a few refrains from the song, which included lines like “Jumanji, it’s a jungle inside your soul.” It was all very Tenacious D. I can’t tell if he’s joking (though I’m leaning toward the possibility that he is), but dammit now a Black/Jonas duet about Jumanji is all I want in the world.

“Somewhere deep inside at the end of the world. JUMANJIIIIIIIIIIIII!!!”

Man, that SO needs to be in the movie — it would be the perfect wrap-up during the credits ...

If not and it’s just a joke, if JB is making that stuff up on the fly, that’s frikking amazing ...
