In any other world, the presence of a similar looking Penske trucks in two key moments would be a coincidence. Not in the Marvelverse. It's the same truck driver, say directors Joe and Anthony Russo.

With the release of Captain America: The Winter Soldier on DVD, the Russos have revealed a bunch of secrets from the making of the film. First, the cut Hawkeye scene and now this tidbit.

In the film, Nick Fury's escape from his attackers is aided by a well-timed crash by a Penske truck. Later, Agent Sitwell is thrown into an oncoming Penske truck. And thus a hero is born. Joe Russo confirmed that the two truck drivers were the same man, and told Coming Soon:

"The man who drives that truck," Joe deadpans, joking that the driver is a candidate for a future Marvel One-Shot, "Is very highly trained. He thinks on his own terms. He's got a plan and a very specific skill set."

And that has rung a bell for many, who have theorized that this is actually the first appearance of the Punisher in a Marvel film, now that that the company has the rights back. Of course, Kevin Feige's said that Marvel's not really considering making a Punisher movie, so it's unlikely that the character would be teased in Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

And, Joe Russo's obviously joking. And that description could apply to any number of action protagonist types, including the obvious Taken reference.

It would be cool if it was the Punisher, though.
