A crazy epic of botany and adventure, The Snow Creature is about what happens when a scientist who just wants to study Himalayan plants finds himself face-to-face with a Yeti. Dr. Parrish, whose voice over throughout most of the 1954 flick is freakishly atonal, suddenly develops a sly side. Here he tries to convince his faithful "porter, a native called "Subra," that he can get rich if he brings the Yeti (or a tribe of Yetis!) to America. In a scene so cluelessly racist that it's almost funny, we watch Native Man teach White Man a lesson about Woman. Later, you will be glad that the Yeti gets stompy on them. I love old black and white genre movies. I'll have to check it out.
The Seventh Seal is one of my alltime favorites. Except, that movie was actually good. I want to see this Yeti movie, but I have a feeling I'll just be laughing through the entire thing. I just need to find it on dvd. Hell, I don't even know if they make it on dvd.
All black and white movies need to be released on dvd. 'Cause I kind of want to add The Seventh Seal to my collection.
