In this Oscar-nominated short, a grim grandma turns "Sleeping Beauty" into a twisted tale

In Nick Phelan's animated short Granny O'Grimm's Sleeping Beauty, Granny doesn't believe in telling children comforting tales with happily ever afters. Instead, she rips her granddaughter from sleep and tells her a version of "Sleeping Beauty" sure to keep her awake for days.


Kathleen O'Rourke created the character of Granny O'Grimm, and both wrote the screenplay and voiced Granny. The film was nominated for the 2010 Oscar for Best Animated Short.

If anybody did do Sleeping Beauty word for word as a movie, it would be rated NC-17 along with the Sequels.
