Another crazy cameo is confirmed for Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2. Peyton Reed discusses Scott and Hope’s relationship in Ant-Man & The Wasp. Plus, intriguing Fantastic Beasts 2 casting, creepy new footage of Alien: Covenant, and new looks at Transformers: The Last Knight and Spider-Man: Homecoming. To me, my spoilers!

Ant Man & The Wasp
Speaking with Collider, director Peyton Reed promised the Wasp will be “fully formed” from the get-go:
It’s something we’re excited about. For me as a comic nerd, I always thought of Ant-Man and Wasp as a team and that’s a lot of what the second movie is really about is how they work together, what their personal and professional relationships are like. To show her finally fully formed in this movie is really exciting. We really get to introduce this character into that universe. I mean we’ve introduced the character, but we haven’t seen her with her full power set and everything, so to me she’s not a supporting character in this movie. It’s every bit as much her movie as it is Scott Lang’s.
Star Trek 4
Appearing on The Today Show, Zachary Quinto said there’s “no guarantee” a fourth Star Trek will happen.
I know that they are working on a script for another one and we’ll see how that all plays out, but the nice thing about that experience is that the time in between those big tentpole films allows us to go off and cultivate a lot of different creative experiences for ourselves. … I’m hopeful that we’ll do another one, but there’s no guarantee.
War for the Planet of the Apes
Director Matt Reeves told Entertainment Weekly that Caesar finally “cracks” during his skirmish with Woody Harrelson’s Colonel in the movie:
It finally cracks Caesar. It sets him on a revenge mission. The movie goes from being this grand war movie to an almost Josey Wales-like Western.
In the same article, Andy Serkis described the Colonel as “psychotic,” just so you know what Caesar’s up against:
The Colonel comes across as someone who’s psychotic. But he is fighting for the survival of humanity, as Caesar is fighting for the apes.
The film has been pushed to a summer 2018 release date—August 3, specifically. [Collider]
Star Wars: The Last Jedi
Oscar Isaac told MovieWeb we’ll be learning a bit more about Poe Dameron in episode eight.
Well, you know I can’t say anything about the thing itself. But he will be challenged, in a very intense way that will reveal a lot more about his character.
Star Wars: Episode IX & Spinoffs
Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy revealed to Star Wars News Net that a table reading for Episode IX will happen soon, and that the company is actively discussing their next slate of Star Wars spinoff movies.
To be honest, we are beginning to talk about [the spinoffs] right now. We have four or five weeks immersed in the film ‘Han Solo’ and we are about to read the script of Colin Trevorrow’s Episode IX directed, so we have a lot of work at the moment. In the next six or eight months we will have some meetings about the stories that we will develop here. After 40 years of adventures, fans have so much information and so many theories about the way that can take these stories and theories that emerge are sometimes new ideas for us that we hear, read and pay attention to everything what is said. It is clear that the franchise is owned by the as much by the fans as it’s owned by [the people at Lucasfilm].
Meanwhile, Omega Underground reports that one of these spinoffs could be helmed by Mr. Robot creator Sam Esmail.
The Maze Runner: Death Cure & Red Sparrow
Both films in the Maze Runner saga have been pushed back. The new release date for Death Cure is February 9, 2018. Luckily, Red Sparrow his theaters just a few weeks later, on March 2, 2018. [Coming Soon]
Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Actor Chris Sullivan described his character, Taserface, to Entertainment Weekly in their summer movie preview.
Taserface is an intergalactic space pirate, who is in the service of Yondu, and a member of the Ravagers. … Taserface is loud. [Chuckles] Taserface is the defensive lineman on your high school football team. He’s a very loud individual who enjoys pushing people around.
Marvel has also released a new featurette on the cast and crew discussing Guardians behaving as a family unit... albeit an unsurprisingly dysfunctional one.
Lastly, here are a whole eight minutes of behind-the-scenes antics.
Avengers: Infinity War
Speaking of— Chris Pratt confirmed to the Toronto Sun that most of Star-Lord’s scenes have already been shot.
I was never sure how that would happen or if that would happen, but then they announced it and called us and told us it was happening. We’ve shot most of it — my stuff — and I can tell you, the fans are not going to be disappointed. It’s going to be really freaking cool.
Speaking with Collider, Feige also teased that the MCU will be “very different” following the events of Infinity War:
We’ve been lucky that [contract expirations] haven’t factored in too much. We’ve had people under contract for certain films, then we’ve had new ideas and new directions like Civil War like we wanted to do, and we’ve been lucky enough to make new contracts. … Certainly, as we get to Infinity War there is a sense of a climax if not a conclusion to, by the time we’re at untitled Avengers 4, the 22 movies that will have encompassed the first three phases of the MCU. And what happens after that will be very different. I don’t know if it’s Phase 4, it might be a new thing.
Superman finally makes an appearance in a new poster discovered by Screen Rant. You’d think they’ve have found a picture of him walking towards camera to photoshop in, too.
There’s some interesting new footage in this TV spot from Vietnam. Warning to the squeamish—it includes alien insects burrowing in facial orifices, so maybe don’t watch if you’re eating.
The LA Times has this swanky new picture of Spider-Man chilling in a cylinder.
Transformers: The Last Knight
Entertainment Weekly has a new photo of Hot Rod about to get whomped.
Kingsmen: The Golden Circle
Here’s a quick teaser for the full trailer coming later today.

Star Wars: Rebels
Dave Filoni spoke to IGN about how season four ties into Rogue One, discussing how the show’s brighter color palette when it comes to its Rebels soldiers will peter out and give way to the drabber colors of the original trilogy:
Now that Rogue One is out, it opens up a lot of possibilities for us to tell these stories. We can go to Yavin now. We can start to deal with the way things worked out in the film and include ideas that are happening prior to that. The look of the background rebels really shifts to being more of the kind of drab military colors that you see in Rogue One. The Phoenix group of Rebel soldiers are kind of petering out.
So they’re redistributed into Mon Mothma’s group on Yavin and Dodonna’s group. You see a restructuring of certain cells, and certain cells get destroyed. And that’s true of the ships as well. So there’s lots of little, neat, detail level things that happen when our characters are heading into season 4 and are absorbed into the kind of pre-Rogue One era, which I thought they did beautifully in the film.
