Also in the issue, Andrew Garfield (Peter Parker) goes into detail about all the thought he's put into switching up Spider-Man's sexuality. Explaining to EW the actor said:

What if MJ is a dude? Why can’t we discover that Peter is exploring his sexuality? It’s hardly even groundbreaking!…So why can’t he be gay? Why can’t he be into boys? I’ve been obsessed with Michael B. Jordan since The Wire. He’s so charismatic and talented. It’d be even better—we’d have interracial bisexuality!

Sure, why not? Michael B. Jordan is an amazing actor. We could be down.

Speaking as someone who digs girls, guys and everything in between, I dont want to see a bi Spidey. I want more superheroes/heroines/villians that are LGBTQ from the get-go. Changing an established character feels kind of patronizing, like most efforts to appeal to the LGBTQ crowd. Its made an unecessarily big deal

"Oh look, we have a gay/lesbian/bisexual character because we're so progressive and hip."
