Good news! THR reports that Sony has hired a screenwriter for the rumored female reboot of the famous franchise. Don't get your hopes up quite yet — many a Ghostbuster movie has gotten this far previously — but this is definitely the take we're most excited about.

In even more promising news, the writer hired is Katie Dippold, who co-wrote the very funny female buddy cop movie The Heat, which was directed by Paul Feig, who's been selected to direct this new Ghostbusters as well. Honestly, I would prefer Feig and Dippold to take control of the franchise over 100 Dan Aykroyds. But is there really anyone who wouldn't?
