Heroes' Painting Oracle Foresees A Potential Return

He may not have survived the first season of NBC's Heroes, but that doesn't mean that we've seen the last of fortune-telling artist Isaac Mendez. Or, at least, that's what the actor who played him, Santiago Cabrera, is hoping. Are we ready for Heroes to have its own Denise Crosby moment? In a move eerily reminiscent of the first season death and subsequent third season return of Star Trek: The Next Generation's Tasha Yar, Cabrera seems to be having buyer's remorse about leaving such a successful show only for his career to... well, go nowhere afterwards:

You know, with Heroes, there's always the chance of going back on... You never know. They're doing the third season now, but anything can happen on that show, so I might come back. I keep in touch with people from the show and visited the set while they were filming the new season. It was surreal to go back and see everyone again. Issac's loft is still there, so when they were filming there it was strange. It felt like I'd never left.

But you did leave, Santiago. And the audience were happy, because your character was always kind of a dull, whiny deus ex machina, no matter how nice the Tim Sale artwork was. While I'm not putting it beyond the Heroes writers to time-travel Isaac back into the series in some way, I am hoping that - if they do - then it's only for one episode and won't involve a Romulan child version appearing two seasons later.
