Here Are 50 Spooky Songs to Make You Get Up and Dance This Halloween

Halloween music is one of the greatest gifts this time of year gives us. So we've compiled 50 of our favorite scary songs — but we're fully aware we're leaving out some of the greats. If we missed your favorite, or if you have a song that must, must, must be played today, let us know!

Generally, we tried to narrow this playlist down, by only letting each artist have one song on it, although Danny Elfman and Beetlejuice are the exceptions. Beetlejuice has both its theme and "Day-O," while Danny Elfman's on it for The Nightmare Before Christmas classic "This Is Halloween," and as a member of Oingo Boingo. It seemed kind of impossible to leave those off.

Lots of Groovie Ghoulies songs to choose from, they were a super-fun Ramonesy pop-punk band who did lots of monster themed tunes (although I don't think they're on Spotify). Choose between Graveyard Girlfriend, (She's My) Vampire Girl, Zombie Crush, Beast with Five Hands, or (for Halloween) a cover of Chuck Berry's Trick or Treat.

Speaking of The Ramones: Pet Sematary, I Don't Wanna Go Down to the Basement

Roky Erickson: Night of the Vampire, I Walked with a Zombie

Daniel Johnston: Deviltown (Groovie Ghoulies also do a great cover of this)

Classics IV: Spooky

The Vanishing: Terror I've Been Dying to Meet You
