Help Find The Kid (Now Adult) Who Inspired Virgin Galactic [UPDATE]

Back in 1988, Richard Branson appeared on the BBC show "Going Live!" and fielded a call from a kid named Shihan Musafer. Shihan's question: "Have you ever thought about going into space?" 26 years later, the commercial spaceline Shihan inspired is poised to launch its first flight – and Branson wants help tracking Shihan down.

Writes Branson in a recent blog entry:

...we'd love to track down Shihan to say a personal thank you for helping to inspire the idea with that phone call. We want to offer Shihan the chance to join Virgin Galactic as a VIP guest to witness a spaceflight. Can you help us? If you think you can help with the mission to find #shihanmusafer, tweet @richardbranson and @virgingalactic.

"We want to offer Shihan the chance to join Virgin Galactic as a VIP guest to witness a spaceflight."

Whaaaa? They're not even going to offer him a ride? They're just offering him the opportunity to fly out to sit in the "spaceport" to watch incredibly wealthy people fork over large amounts of cash for space thrill-rides? "Hey buddy, thanks for the inspiration. Welcome to the future - it sucks."
