If you've been thinking of rewatching the first season finale of Game of Thrones this weekend, in hopes of freeze-framing the bit where the severed head of Dubya appears on a spike, then you may have some bad news. HBO has pulled the episode from iTunes and HBO Go, and stopped shipment of DVD copies, until the episode can be de-presidented. Future DVD box sets will no doubt bear a sticker saying something like, "Now with 100 percent less unintended political commentary." [AV Club]

This whole scenario is pretty weird. I mean, the Season 1 DVD is a few months old now, right? And those commentaries would've been recorded even further before that. If this was going to be such a huge 'shitstorm' (airquoted because, well, it's not at all really) for HBO, wouldn't someone have picked it up way earlier than now?

The reaction from HBO seems a little... overt to me. It's just really weird!
