Ok, I have one of those questions that I feel kind of dumb asking but here goes - it was my understanding that there is quite a bit of soot or dust in space (something like tons of it falling to earth each day). If that’s true, why does the hubble appear so clean after 19 years in space (in the photo)? Does the dust just bounce off?
