The Wrap is reporting that Nicole Perlman has been hired to rewrite the script for Wool, an adaptation of Hugh Howey’s bestselling novel. Perlman is best known for her work on Guardians of the Galaxy, and is also writing the script for Captain Marvel.

20th Century Fox acquired the rights for the novel in 2012, hiring on writer J Blakeson, who’s currently attached to direct an adaptation of The 5th Wave by Rick Yancy.

Howey gained widespread attention when he began a serialized story, now known as The Silo Saga, through Amazon’s Kindle Direct Program. The first five installments were collected into a single volume titled Wool in 2012, with collected editions titled Shift and Dust released in 2013.

I did my best to speed-read the Wool omnibus in my local bookstore since the premise interested me, but the writing did not. Could anyone reply to this message, taking the time to lay out a spoiler synopsis of the plot? Google didn’t prove very successful last time I tried.
