Presumably the mermaids will be Sirens, as that will be where the threat comes from.
I can't say I'm especially impressed by the concept art. It's nice enough, and competently done, but it doesn't excite me. The concept art for the first two POTC movies was unique and creative. This looks perfunctory and unoriginal.
