The Guardians of the Galaxy have officially invaded Disney with a new ride, and they’re going to be there for a long, long time. This past weekend marked the opening of Mission: Breakout at Disney’s California Adventure. But if you don’t think you’ll get there for a while, these videos should give you an idea of what to expect.
Standing in line is never fun—and the new Guardians ride has certainly required some epic wait times. But, as with most Disney rides, the company has done its best to make the wait as fun as possible. Mission: Breakout has some beautiful stuff to admire outside, even before you get into the building.
Once you get inside, you’ll be among the Collector’s collection and that means a ton of Easter eggs and Marvel props. Here’s a taste.
Then, a video starts that explains everything. This is almost better than the ride itself.
But that’s not the end of the pre-show entertainment. After watching that video, you’ll be ushered into the Collector’s office, where there are more props and a very familiar face.
You kind of miss it in that video but Rocket grabs a certain blue Walkman at the end there.
You then walk through the bowels of the fortress (which you can see a few highlights of starting at 1:25 in this video), and then it’s finally time for the ride itself. There are six different ride experiences, each with a unique song and different videos. Here’s just one example.
At the end, you see your photo, exit through the gift shop, and see a tease of what’s to come in the future.
