Star Wars: The Force Awakens
Another day, another rumor about the death of Han Solo. This time from Epic Stream, discussing a rumor from an undisclosed source—so pinch of salt at the ready—about a scene shot in the supposed aftermath of Han (or potentially Chewbacca’s, apparently):
He watched a scene being shot at Greenham common airbase in which Leia is sad and says ‘I don’t know how he will cope without him’, my source told me Han Solo dies, I quizzed him and he said he just presumed, I then asked who was she talking to, he said a couple of Wookiees but now Chewy, I asked him could you have meant that Chewy dies, he said that might of been the case, he didn’t know just that one of them does.
TheForce.net has some early concept art for BB-8, an alien resistance pilot, and a new kind of TIE Fighter (see the BB-8 art at the link):

Martin Donovan hints that his character, Mitchell Carson, may reappear in future Marvel films:
I’m supposed to be vague! I’ve been told to be vague! But vaguely: he’s in the Marvel Universe, and we’ll see.
Star Trek Beyond
The Raid and Fast and Furious 6 actor Joe Taslim has been cast in an undisclosed role. [CBR]
Ron Perlman discusses the (as yet not in production) film, and why it should be made:
Guillermo [del Toro] definitely knows almost scene for scene what would happen in the third installment. He designed the saga to be a trilogy, and to have this conclusion that would address the destiny part of “Hellboy,” the nature versus nurture conversation of “Hellboy.” And then he introduces the impending birth of the twins. She’s pregnant with twins at the end of “Hellboy 2.” And then what — no movie?
That’s why I’m on my soapbox. Its because the notion of all those things being finally resolved are rather epic and very theatrical, and would make for a great movie. But it would particularly make for a great movie to the people. We didn’t have the biggest audience of any comic book movie, but the people who came came, and they loved it and invested in it. And my point is we owe them the result, we owe them the conclusion.
I don’t want to go back and put on four and a half hours’ worth of fucking makeup every day. I don’t want to do that. I want to do that as much as I want a colonoscopy. But we have to! In my mind, it’s not even negotiable.

Game Of Thrones
The show is headed to Guadalajara, Spain to film at the Castillo de Zafra—and that very striking-looking tower has sparked some heated rumors, due to its similarity to a description of the Tower of Joy. That tower, in Dorne, is prominently featured in flashbacks to King Robert’s Rebellion, as the place where Ned Stark’s sister Lyanna was found dead. If the Castillo de Zafra is the Tower of Joy in the show, it could hint that elements of Jon Snow’s hotly-theorised parentage may be revealed in the series this year, instead of making us wait for the final season. DC’s Legends Of Tomorrow
The CW have confirmed that Hawkman will also appear in the series—but the real news is that the Carter Hall incarnation of the character will allegedly appear in The Flash and Arrow to set up his appearance in Legends. According to Entertainment Weekly, Hall will be “charismatic and wise beyond his years” and has memories of his past lives intact, making him an invaluable leader.
Long time Flash villain Double Down will appear on the series, played by JR Bourne. [The Wrap]
Marc Guggenheim reveals that the series will deal with the resurrection of Sara Lance as the White Canary before she appears on Legends of Tomorrow:
It’s going to be handled head-on. We’re doing a really great episode that really tackles the question of Sara, death and resurrection. On ‘Arrow,’ nothing is easy, so it’s not as simple as dumping her in the water.
Here’s an SDCC interview with Grant Gustin, who says that Barry will begin the second season as a “lone wolf”, out of fear of putting his friends and family in danger for being The Flash. [Buddy TV]

The Vampire Diaries
Kat Graham is unsure that she would return for season eight, if one happens:
I think I was really excited about the idea of doing a season seven, based on the fact that I feel like my character, who was basically in the other dimension for about two years, finally got out, and I knew that the fans felt that the character’s story wasn’t completed. There are storylines with other characters, whether it’s Damon, or other people that the character has scenes with, that they just felt that the character’s relationships had not come full circle or had not fully developed, and wanted to explore that also, I felt the same way. I didn’t feel like the character’s story was done, I felt that there was more that they could do, but I won’t say I would do a Season eight, it really depends on whether I’m fulfilled, and whether we’re like ‘Okay, this story’s been told, and we’re good to go.
