Now that she's done with Batgirl, Gail Simone's launching a new Secret Six comic for DC. Simone was the writer of the fan-favorite title for years before the DC universe rebooted in 2011, so it's going to be good to have her and her deeply dysfunctional team back.

According to an interview with Hero Complex, the "team" is formed when its six members wake up in an empty white room with each other and no idea how they got there or why. "They instantly do not like each other, and they instantly do not get along with each other," added Simone.

The only two confirmed members so far are former Batman foe Catman and Black Alice, both Simone favorites making their New 52-niverse debuts; but that's also clearly a Talon on this first issue cover as well. Catman, previously a joke of a Batman foe whom Simone and artist Dale Eagelsham reimagined in 2006, will be even more dangerous than his predecessor — and bisexual, as per Simone's 2011 revelations.

Secret Six #1 is due in December, with interior art by Ken Lashley and covers and character designs by Eaglesham."[It's] going to be a very dangerous, sexy book," promises Simone.

Best. News. Ever. Even while she ironically wrote one of the dullest Wonder Woman runs ever, she still shone like gold on Secret Six. Unlike so many writers who saw the history of the DCU as a burden, she used it like a giant toy box filled with concepts to play with. Hopefully, she'll be able to make lemonade out of the lemons that make up the New 52.
