First video of the creepy genetically enhanced Apes from Rise of the Apes

The recently retitled Rise of the Planet of the Apes has released a bit of WETA footage, showcasing the motion-capture Apes who will eventually enslave all of mankind. And it's creepy as hell.

WETA released this short clip on the new Apes' facebook page, featuring a few seconds of a new-style Ape. Is this the infamous Caesar, played by Andy Serkis? We're not sure, but it's freaking us out in all the right ways. It's almost as scary as when Charlton Heston finds out what happened to his friend Dodge in the Human Museum.

The new Apes flick, takes place in the present day in San Francisco. It's an origin story that follows scientist Will Rodman (played by James Franco), in which "man's own experiments with genetic engineering lead to the development of intelligence in apes and the onset of a war for supremacy."

Apes will be in theaters August 5th.

There will have to be a lot of genetically-enhanced apes coming out of that lab. Or they start breeding with non-enhanced apes? The numbers will be an interesting issue if we're talking about apes usurping control of the planet from what? 8 billion people?
