First concept art from Battlestar Galactica's next prequel series, Blood and Chrome

The first ever concept art from the new Battlestar Galactica prequel series Blood And Chrome have been released. From the looks of things, the space opera's next chapter will be full of aliens, blood, cylons, spaceships and WAR! Excellent!

According to earlier reports, Syfy will allegedly air Blood and Chrome in late 2011 or early 2012. Just like BSG there will be a two-hour TV movie, which could serve as the pilot for the series. That series will focus on young William Adama and his career as a Viper pilot. From the look of the above art, he may be dog-fighting an older make and model of the cylon Raider (at least that's what we think we're seeing in the snow battle). For more images including fantastic robot portraits and raptor battles, go to Blastr for additional concept art.

Here's a synopsis of the series that was released earlier:

Ensign William Adama, barely in his 20's and a recent Academy graduate, finds himself assigned to the newest battlestar in the Colonial fleet ... the Galactica. The talented but hot-headed risk-taker soon finds himself leading a dangerous top secret mission that, if successful, will turn the tide of the decade long war in favor of the desperate fleet.
