Captain America: The Winter Soldier introduced us to the cinematic version of the high-flying hero Falcon. But before he could take to the screen, the filmmakers had to decide what his wings would look like. Would he look like a bird or a plane?

Concept artist Josh Nizzi has loads of the Falcon and Winter Soldier concept art he created for the second Captain America movie, and it's neat to see the different looks that he came up with. In some, Falcon's wings are more bird-like (or more like a plucked bird), while in others he looks more like a human airplane. A few of the designs definitely fall farther onto the jet packs side of things.

I suppose it's still open, but it would have been nice if origin of The Falcon's wings had been mentioned to have come from a certain someone in black from a certain country that's also the source of Cap's shield (at least the movie version). And would a little red in the outfit have killed them? Some of the earlier designs at least tried.
