Ex Machina Trailer Is A Love Triangle Between Two Men And A Robot

Trailer FrenzyA special place to find the newest trailers for movies and TV shows you're craving.

28 Days Later and Sunshine writer Alex Garland's directorial debut attempts to sex up the Turing Test. And it's creepy. Really creepy. Check out the latest trailer for Ex Machina, which sets up the story a bit better than the previous trailers.

Ex Machina stars three very exciting actors that we love, Oscar Isaac, Domhnall Gleeson (both in the new Star Wars Episode 7 btw) and the very captivating robot Alicia Vikander. Earlier trailers made this whole movie seem like some Turing sex experiment, but this trailer seems more like a test within a test... I guess we'll have to see what happens. Ex Machina will premiere at SXSW. Here's the full synopsis:

Alex Garland, writer of 28 Days Later and Sunshine, makes his directorial debut with the stylish and cerebral thriller, EX MACHINA. Caleb Smith (Domhnall Gleeson), a programmer at an internet-search giant, wins a competition to spend a week at the private mountain estate of the company's brilliant and reclusive CEO, Nathan Bateman (Oscar Isaac). Upon his arrival, Caleb learns that Nathan has chosen him to be the human component in a Turing Test—charging him with evaluating the capabilities, and ultimately the consciousness, of Nathan's latest experiment in artificial intelligence. That experiment is Ava (Alicia Vikander), a breathtaking A.I. whose emotional intelligence proves more sophisticated, seductive––and more deceptive––than the two men could have imagined.

Still think Kaleb is also a robot and it's actually him that's being tested. Ava is an earlier model that just wants to get free.

Or they really could go down the terribly cliched road of manipulative AI. Yawn. Sexist and dull.
