Sometimes while the mind is ticking away, it comes up with absurd terrors that are unlikely or even impossible. But that doesn't make them any less frightening. Deep Dark Fears pulls back the curtains on the strange personal fears we think no one else knows about.

Some of the fears in the comics belong to Deep Dark Fears' creator Fran Krause, while others are submitted by the readers. While some of the comics depict fears that have been passed from adults to children, others are obsessive thoughts that the brain comes up with and refuses to let go of: dangerous or humiliating accidents, a fear that people or monsters are lurking behind every corner (and under every toilet seat), and a profound paranoia that the world might be more mystical than we rationally believe. The individual fears tend to be deeply personal, but you might recognize a few of your own.

Some days I'm afraid that I am the only one in the universe and everything/everybody is just part of my imagination.

Other days I'm afraid that everybody is not my imagination and are in fact real.

I'm not sure which is more frightening.
