Jeff Bridges' wild fantasy movie Seventh Son has been delayed several times since production wrapped on it way back in 2012. But as we approach its latest — and final? — release date of February 6th, 2015, it makes sense to remind folks it still exists with a new, action-packed international trailer.
I don't know what to think about it, frankly. The plethora of monsters and action looks great, but I can see it quickly getting rote (the fact that this comes from the 300: Rise of an Empire people doesn't mitigate this worry in the slightest). I like the weirdness of the fantasy world it shows us, but I'm afraid the movie won't have the substance to hold the movie together. And I love Jeff Bridges, but I'm afraid this may be another movie where he lets a weird accent do his acting for him, a la R.I.P.D.
Mainly I'm worried because Seventh Son was supposed to come out in February of 2013, and studios rarely decide to delay movies because they think they're so fantastic. Still, there's more than enough wonder in this trailer to give us some hope. Cautious hope, but hope nonetheless.
