In this trailer for Alejandro Amenábar's Regression features Emma Watson's Angela Gray recounting what could be a memory of something very wrong in her childhood. Ethan Hawke's Detective Bruce Kenner seems to not only believe her, but find evidence that something huge has happened.
Given the title of this movie, it really seems that we're in for a ride that brings us to the familiar questions of the trustworthiness of memory — especially ones recovered much later. While the film supposedly starts with Watson's character accusing her father of a horrible crime, the trailer doesn't seem to focus on him as much as the possibility of a larger conspiracy/cult that he might have been a part of.
Anyone else excited to see what Amenábar, who won a 2004 Best Foreign Film Oscar for The Sea Inside, does with this?
