It's been a while since we last heard news of the Will Smith-starring remake of the 1970 evil computer film Colossus: The Forbin Project, but we're excited to hear about the latest talent brought onboard. Ed Solomon, the screenwriter who co-wrote the Bill & Ted movies (and the TV series) and penned Men in Black, will be rewriting the movie's script.

Much like the original film, the Colossus remake will center on a supercomputer that has taken over the world. Smith is set to play the AI's creator, Dr. Charles Forbin, who is the only hope to end Colossus' reign. The remake script was original penned by Blake Masters and Jason Rothenberg, but now The Hollywood Reporter states that Solomon will be taking over.

It's not clear what the problem was with the initial script, but let's hope that Solomon can bring the genre savvy and charm he's brought to other screenplays. And perhaps the combo of Solomon and Smith will manage to produce another winner.
