Naomi Novik has been gaining considerable acclaim for her latest novel, Uprooted. Now, according to The Hollywood Reporter, it’s being adapted for film courtesy of Ellen DeGeneres and Jeff Kleeman at Warner Brothers.
A couple of weeks ago, we described Uprooted as a book that “combines fantasy, fairy tale, and coming of age stories in a way that is both original and deeply compelling”, and the novel has been widely popular.
This isn’t Novik’s first foray into Hollywood: Almost a decade ago, director Peter Jackson optioned her Temeraire series, although nothing has come to fruition yet. Still, this news has us very, very pleased.
