A new Dungeons and Dragons movie is slowly rolling forward under the eye of director Rob Letterman (Goosebumps), and he may have just found his star in Ansel Elgort, who we’ll soon see as the star of Edgar Wright’s upcoming film Baby Driver.

Deadline reports Elgort is “in early negotiations to star in the project” calling the part “a primo role for any actor.” They also say that Vin Diesel, a long time Dungeons and Dragons fan, has expressed interest in appearing in the film.

Elgort may be a relative unknown, but he’s a star among younger audiences. He’s a supporting character in the Divergent films and stole the hearts of teens everywhere in the YA adaptation The Fault in Our Stars. He then won the plum lead role in Baby Driver, which will see him play a getaway driver listening to lots of music—steered by the kinetic energy of director Edgar Wright (Shaun of the Dead, Hot Fuzz, The World’s End).

Dungeons and Dragons has yet to claim an official release date but Warner Bros. has a few “Untitled” films on the calendar, so the film may lay claim to one of them as it continues to come together.

I can’t be the only one who thinks this guy has a supremely punchable face, right?

As for the movie, I wish someone would get the rights and remake the 80s cartoon as a Netflix show. That would be awesome and in line with the current craze of remaking every single thing from the 80s.
