The unjustly shuttered Captain EO 3D ride reopened in California yesterday, and people absolutely lost their shit. Fans waited overnight to catch a first glimpse of the George Lucas-produced extravaganza.

200 or so fans waited outside Disneyland Tuesday morning to check out the Michael Jackson attraction, which was directed by Francis Ford Coppola, produced by Lucas, and cost $30 million for 17 minutes of footage (these are 1986 dollars, mind you). The ride had been closed since 1997, an era when MJ's reputation had been marred by child molestation charges and the fact that he hadn't written a good song since 1991's "Remember The Time." The past didn't deter the Jackson fans Tuesday morning. They gleefully cheered The Gloved One one as he defeated the evil Witch Queen (Anjelica Huston) using the power of dance and positive thinking.

If you couldn't make it out to Disneyland Tuesday, don't worry - we've got you covered. Here's the entirety of the Captain EO. Watch it in the comfort of your home with the 3D glasses you stole from Avatar.

Oh my god. Back when Jackson was still cool. I totally remember that asteroid. It was probably the first truly 3d thing I'd ever seen.

Why do they call this a "ride", by the way? From what I remember, Captain Eo was simply a 3d film.

Speaking of old Disneyland rides, anybody remember the old "Mission to Mars" show?
