It looks like your grandchildren will be watching Pirates of Caribbean sequels. Disney is looking into making a fifth and sixth film back-to-back.

Don't throw out your pirate costumes. They won't be going out of style for some time. Disney is riding the Pirates of the Caribbean series until the tip of the mainmast disappears below the water. Not only will there be a fourth film in the series, On Stranger Tides, there will probably be two more movies after it. The scoop comes courtesy of Hitfix, which writes:

Disney has begun quietly telling cast and crew to set aside a major block of time in the very near future so they can shoot "Pirates 5" and "Pirates 6." And, yes, once again, they will be shooting them back-to-back as one giant film, and then they'll release them as two films.

There are no details about these movies just yet, so allow me to speculate. The fifth movie will be four hours long. The sixth movie will be eight. In neither movie will you get a single frame in which Johnny Depp is vertical. Orlando Bloom will be replaced with a potted plant. In the fifth movie Elizabeth Swann will become an unstoppable ninja-pirate combination. In the sixth she will ascend to heaven on a cloud of golden light and start dueling with angels.
