We're all very excited about Brick director Rian Johnson's science fiction movie Looper, but we had no idea it was going to be this delightfully violent. New plot details crank our anticipation up to 11. Spoilers ahead...

We spoke with Johnson about Looper a while back, but sense then many details have surfaced. In an interview with Cinematical Johnson finally revealed the bloody details surrounding his film:

"Looper is a time travel movie, set in a near future where time travel doesn't exist but will be invented in a few decades. It's pretty dark in tone, much different from Bloom, and involves a group of killers (called Loopers) who work for a crime syndicate in the future. Their bosses send their targets hogtied and blindfolded back in time to the Loopers, and their job is to simply shoot them in the head and dispose of the body. So the target vanishes from the future and the Loopers dispose of a corpse that doesn't technically exist, a very clean system. Complications set in from there."

They have the power to send people through time... why not just zap them so far into the future that it doesn't even matter anymore? Seems like a really, really complicated way to kill someone.

Having said that, I will gladly watch this, because... time travel.
