Deadpool 2

Jack Kesey (The Strain) has been cast as a villain, which sources at Deadline suggest may be Black Tom Cassidy, an Irish mutant who can manipulate power drawn from plants.

Michael Beach neither confirmed or denied (I think...) that he’s playing Black Manta’s father on Twitter.

The Extincts

William Joyce is directing an animated adaptation of Veronica Cossanteli’s YA novel about a boy who discovers a menagerie of mythological creatures. [Coming Soon]

Star Wars: The Last Jedi

Here’s some set footage from that Vanity Fair shoot, which mostly just gives you a closer look at everyone’s clothes and lets you hear them talk about how much they like each other and how different The Last Jedi is from The Force Awakens.

The Batman

The infamous DCEU Leaks Reddit is now claiming Matt Reeves’ The Batman will feature the Scarecrow, Deathstroke, and the Joker as villains. Please take all of this with the appropriate grains of salt.

No work has been commissioned on this movie. Apparently Matt Reeves has yet to even start on this, and has to fulfill his commitment on “War for the Planet of the Apes” before working with Ben Affleck. Although there has been rumors of the script being thrown out, there have been rumors around the executives that Matt Reeves wants to incorporate many Batman villains. These villains will include Deathstroke, Joker, and Scarecrow. The studio has already been working on Deathstroke (obviously) and has mockups of a potential new Scarecrow.

Lucky Number

A burgeoning film studio called Gunpowder & Sky has decided to produce a slate of films combining sports with horror. Their first film, titled Lucky Number, surrounds a basketball player who sells his soul to Satan to become “the most athletic—and frightening—killer in cinematic history.”

Vice President of Gunpowder & Sky, John Weinbach, gave this amazing quote in a press release:

There are few places more frightening than a dark, empty arena, and the sports landscape is full of strange and authentically frightening characters. We’ve never seen a mash-up between horror and sports, where everything from a hockey skate to a nacho cheese vat can be dangerous – or even deadly.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Speaking of, Spidey prepares himself for Tony Stark’s NBA Finals party in the latest TV spot.

We also have the latest poster, in which the Vulture gives us a good look at his sneaker-claws. [Screenrant]

Despicable Me 3

A third trailer reveals more about Dru and Gru’s backstory.

Transformers: The Last Knight

The film’s Instagram has released a profile on Agent Santos.

And here’s a new TV spot focusing on Dragonstorm.

The Mummy

The Mummy makes a monkey out of Tom Cruise in a new clip.

The Gifted

The new X-Men TV series is no longer filming in Dallas, according to the Dallas Film Commission on Facebook.

We unfortunately have some bad news to share folks. We tried, but THE GIFTED TV series will not be shot in Dallas. They needed to make a decision last week, waited until yesterday even, but time ran out given the Texas Legislature has not finished it’s business this session. We’re disappointed too, but not giving up on the bigger picture.

The Originals

The season four finale is titled “The Feast of All Sinners.” according to the upcoming DVD release’s episode menu. [We Live Entertainment]

The Defenders

Sigourney Weaver spoke to The Nerdist about her enigmatic character, Alexandra:

I do think she’s a renaissance woman. I think yes, she has to do these things but she really… she loves life, she loves culture. It’s one of the most interesting women characters I’ve ever read.

Mark Sheppard won’t be a series regular on the thirteenth season of Supernatural, and given that Crowley sacrificed his life in the season twelve finale, it makes sense.

The Strain

Finally, FX has released a trailer for season four.

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Yep... despite that dorky TV spot and horribly photoshopped poster, I’m still very excited to go see Homecoming.

I mean, REALLY freakin’ excited
