Creature From The Black Lagoon: The Musical?

Join a dancing and singing Gilly on stage at the Universal Studios' production Creature From The Black Lagoon: The Musical. The musical romp about an Amazonian lagoon monster who prays upon an unsuspecting science team will be replacing the theme park's "Fear Factor" stage show. The concept art poster asks the question, "Gill meets girl, was it love — or lunch?" Fingers crossed that they have the monster actually devour the lady in the white bathing suit with blood squirting sequences akin to Kill Bill in front of a crowd of crying children. Suck it up kiddies: this is Universal, not Disney. [LA Times]

DISCUSSION

I for one welcome our new musical overlords.

I never caught the bug from Rocky Horror Picture Show but years later the Buffy episode 'Once more with feeling'([www.buffymusical.com]) infected me with an overwhelming love for the emerging sci-fi/fantasy-musical.

We've all seen the clever advertising for A Zombie Musical ([www.azombiemusical.com]) and those of you up in Seattle may have caught Meathook: A Melodrama ([www.seattleweekly.com])

.

The one I wish had been released already is REPO! I have invigorated my friends and hapless strangers alike into a frenzy of bile inducing excitement waiting to watch REPO! ([www.repo-opera.com])

So add to this Creature From The Black Lagoon: The Musical? Most excellent, I could not be happier. I march forward into a world that joyfully celebrates its advanced love for my favorite genres.
