During their unveiling of the Captain America: Civil War trailer on Jimmy Kimmel, actors Robert Downey Jr. and Chris Evans teased that they would soon be returning to Atlanta to film a Marvel movie—and Comicbook.com is speculating it could be an involvement in the Spider-Man film, as no other Marvel film aside from Guardians of the Galaxy Volume 2 is due to film in the city, except for Spider-Man, as confirmed by Tom Holland recently.
Spider-Man fits the bill in that regard, but it’s likely that the actors are referring to either potential Civil War reshoots before its May 2016 release, or even parts of Avengers: Infinity War, due to film sometime next year—but Spider-Man is still a possibility. Take all this with a hearty dose of speculatory skepticism for now.
Speaking to Good Morning America, JJ Abrams has confirmed that the absolute final cut of the film has been finished, and talks about the secrecy surrounding the film:
Here’s the thing: I obviously don’t want to ruin the movie for people. It’s so important to us that we not give too many details and oversell it, which is very hard in a movie like Star Wars.
What I hope is that they see a movie that tells them that life is full of unlimited possibility. That there’s an incredible sense of, to use a George Lucas term, hope in the world. And that they feel better when they leave than when they got in there.
Anna Paquin has expressed an interesting in returning to the franchise:
I have had a great time on all of those films that I’ve been part of. Those are people that are very dear to me. If it happens that that’s something that makes sense for whichever of the 700 different X-Men projects that are happening — which I personally can’t keep track of — then that’s great. If not, they’re still fun to watch.
I would come back and do whatever. These are people I’ve known for half my life. I have a lot of love for my X-Men family. I realistically wouldn’t really care what it was if they were getting the whole gang back together kind of thing. On a side note, personally, I would really like to fly because flying’s cool.
Fred Dekker has taken to Facebook (with some adorable fan art) to confirm that his script for a new Predator sequel is complete.
Elizabeth Olsen discusses the team filming the movie:
It’s movie magic! You step on set, and you get to work with the best of the best. These people go and they end up working on something smaller in between a lot of times. You get to work with the best DPs, you get to work with the best camera operators. You get to work with the best stunt people. You get to work with the best costume designers. It’s just cool because you’re around so much talent.
A few images of filming in the UK have made their way to the internet, featuring Gal Gadot and Chris Pine, as well as multitudes of extras, in period costume—confirming the film’s oft-rumored WWI-era setting.
Zoe Saldana has shared a few photos of her getting back into prosthetics and makeup for Gamora to begin filming on the movie:
Patton Oswalt has joined the revival of the series as TV’s Son of TV’s Frank, the child of original MST3K henchman, TV’s Frank. [Paste]
Executive Producer Greg Berlanti teases the emotional core of the show’s crossover with The Flash:
What’s been really exciting about the show this year has been dramatizing [Oliver and Felicity’s] relationship, and how that’s informed his journey and her journey. Like any relationship, there’s going to be ups and downs and surprises and pitfalls, and they have some real challenges going into the break. but that’s probably all I should say without getting in trouble with my cohorts!
The show has been picked up for an additional 7 episodes, giving Supergirl a full season order of 20.
Meanwhile, Greg Berlanti threw water on the recent rumor that the show would crossover with The Flash in May Sweeps:
Only because we just received the pickup, but not at this point.
Teddy Sears dodges a question as to whether or not the Justice Society—the Earth-2 incarnation of the Justice League—will appear on the show:
A… Justice Society? By all accounts, probably, but it hasn’t been told to me. It hasn’t been fleshed out. This is what’s fun. There’s a lot of unanswered questions and a lot of places that we could go. Earth-Two is just one of 52 earths. I know we’re just in Season Two, but we really can come and go in all sorts of great directions. They just don’t tell me anything! I’m just happy to be here.
