Right before he died, along with most human beings within the next few hours and civilization before he awoke, the worst indignity was bestowed:

Someone left the alarm clock on, and it went off inopportunely, preventing him the dignity of dying in his sleep. Worse, it had been set to a radio station that played "edgy oldies," a term he only understood as the song accompanying his last morning in this realm played.

Out of the speaker spilled out the Boomtown Rats' "I Don't Like Mondays."

Fucking great, he muttered, his spirits pierced just before his skull was, the weight of the situation feeling heavier than the creature that broke through the window and landed on him, cracking his ribs.

He did not live long enough to get the satisfaction of the radio and the station meeting a more grizzly fate a few moments later, as the apocalypse went on to shoot the whole thing down...
