We've all complained about the weird, nostril-flaring faces of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles in the critically unacclaimed hit movie produced by Michael Bay. But as this newly revealed Turtle concept art proves, they could have been far more terrifying.
The art comes from concept artist Anthony Francisco, but was ultimately rejected. Possibly because the filmmakers realized that truly realistic-looking giant bipedal turtle-men would be completely fucking horrifying. Case in point:
Makes the Turtles they went with look positively lovable, don't they? Of course, it doesn't help that these guys are wielding guns, either. Look, guys. It's Teenage. Mutant. Ninja. Turtles. The full description is right there in the name. If your design, script or movie contradicts one of these four words, you need to start over, okay?
