Anyone else think most images we've seen of Chris Pine's Kirk have been bruise-porn? Well, he's not alone anymore: looks like our boy Sulu can take a punch too. A new Star Trek gallery awaits.

You gotta admit Zoe Saldana is a stunning addition to this all boy crew, sure the Orion Slave Girl is cute and all, but my heart stays true to Uhura.

Hoping to keep this spoiler free, but just in case, don't read past this if you don't want any minor and vague details.

As someone who saw an early screening, Chris Pine does spend most of the movie covered in scratches, bruises, or other aliments. But he looks good doing it. On other notes, I felt this was one of the most well cast adaptations to date, and my favorite were John Cho as Sulu, Zachary Quinto as Spock, and Simon Peg as Scotty. The way this film balanced the assemble cast is what ever film with a larger cast should strive for (like, for instance, Wolverine Origins).

I also enjoyed how well this film acknowledged it's detour from the other series (and how this can be seen as a cliche) while still having a similar feeling (though much more action packed). People do need to go in not expecting it the same thing at all, but it's really very fun and entertaining while still staying true (in my opinion) to the original. I would recommend seeing this to anyone, both ST fans and others.
