That line about how location shooting adds "credibility" may just be the reason Nolan makes awesome films. He gets that scale is cheap, serious suspension of disbelief is a limited commodity, and fantasy needs to be "bought" with realism if you want an emotional response. Actors can't improvise with green screens, cinematographers can't frame details they can't see, and even the VFX guys know their work is more likely to set off bullshit detectors the more prevalent it is in the foreground.
